Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls from the 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The group did not have any fans in The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to get the attention they deserved. Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both quickly became huge hit. Her success was unfortunately not long-lasting and, for a few years after, she went under the radar. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards it was back in the spotlight. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
